The quote that looked like a win

Balls that fall outside those ranges don't just perform inconsistently—they can actually be non-compliant for league play.
Cheap balls often skate close to those tolerances. Not illegal, technically. But close enough that performance varies batch to batch.
What I'd do differently
If I could redo that 2022 decision, I would have asked one question before signing anything: What's the projected usable game count for this ball in a commercial environment?
Most vendors won't have a clean answer. The ones who do are the ones worth working with.
We've since shifted our approach. For house balls, we now buy from a supplier who provides wear-testing data.
